About

road·kill

 (rōd′kĭl′)

n.

1. An animal or animals killed by being struck by a motor vehicle.

2. Slang One that has failed or been defeated and is no longer worthy of consideration

For the purposes of our website we will focus on the 2nd definition.  We affectionately call any item that has been salvaged from the street as “Roadkill”.  Items may include, but are not limited to, furniture, decorative pieces, garden art, garden carts, garden planters, garden paraphernalia, mirrors, tools, power equipment, kid’s plastic play items, and floor lamps.  If you can put it on the street (and it’s not an animal or struck by a motor vehicle) and it can be used by someone else you can call it Roadkill.  When someone sees their items as being failed, defeated, or no longer worthy of consideration they want to get rid of it.  What better way than to dump it on the street with a sign that says “FREE” or post it on Craigslist.  These are two common ways to find Roadkill.  But we, we are lucky.  Our town has clean up week twice a year.

So simple. Walk your Roadkill to the curb. Set it down.  And walk away.

So simple. Drive your truck around town.  Spot a Roadkill. Load the truck. And drive away.

You never know what you may find.  But, be careful what you wish for. You may just get it. And it may become a project. And it may sit in your garage, basement, or attic for years waiting until the perfect moment to be worthy of consideration.  Roadkill to Riches.

We are here to share with you our Roadkill finds.
